A leader in our newborn fashion niche is MunekaWear Fashions. Diana Rosario is the Owner and Designer of MunekaWear Fashions.
"About five years ago, I started making my own clothes to go out in. I just liked to be a little different from everyone
else."
She has made a dynamic impact although her start was nearly storybook. I would wear the clothes I made to the clubs and events
around Orlando. So many people loved my designs so I started a small collection just for myself and my friends. Rosario continues,
One day I was out with my girlfriends and a club promoter saw my style and convinced me to do a show of my collections.
Every year Diana and MunekaWear hold an annual show in Orlando where the newest designs are unwrapped and this year a portion
of the proceeds go to the Changing Life Foundation. Changing Life Foundation is an Orlando based organization dedicated to
assisting families with developing their childs natural talents by funding local schools, workshops and programs that support
children and the arts. "I wanted to give something back to the local community," says Rosario. I chose children because
I lost my oldest son to cancer five years ago. Rosario a single mother of three gives a percentage of all shows and all sales
to community organizations focused on children. I want to give something back, at least for the kids. Rosario also started
the Anthony Santos Rose fund through the National Foundation for Cancer Research in honor of her son.
But what about the clothes? Well, they are phenomenal. I dont consider myself to have any kind of eye for fashion, but I
know what looks good and these clothes look fantastic! Mostly comprised of non-formal womens eveningwear MunekaWear is slammin.
The dresses, skirts and other pieces designed by Diana are a delightful change to the show all, wear anything culture that
has tainted our countrys fashions. These pieces are truly glamorous without being too flashy. They are perfect for girls
night out, the first date, a company dinner or even a runway show.
Not only that, but all MunekaWear clothing is handcrafted and completely customizable. See a piece you like but want it in
a different color or a particular size? Not a problem. I only make clothing I would wear, says Rosario who understands the
importance of being able to offer her consumers a bit more than the competition. Rosario is able to connect closely with
her MunekaWear audience, who are mostly women in their twenties with a very packed evening schedule. We should be glamorous
and just a little flirtatious.
Twice a year MunekaWear releases new designs to the collection, which can all be seen at: www.munekawear.com. We plan to
keep working the annual shows with maybe a couple smaller shows here and there. What about the guys? I ask. Rosario smiles,
Well we're going to try to introduce some designs for men and children at next years show. This single Orlando mom has done
much with a big dream, beautiful smile and desire to make a difference. People should know that they can be and do whatever
they want to be. All it takes is dedication. You just have to believe in yourself. Rosario continues, I didnt think I could
do this, but I just stayed dedicated and its coming along very nicely.
